SCREAMIN' EAGLE® DESTROYER™
Do you dream of making a quick run down the 1/4 mile? Do horsepower and neck-snapping acceleration do it for you? Here's your chance for the ride of the lifetime, on YOUR new VRXSE Screamin' Eagle® Destroyer™ . It is the most radical bike Harley-Davidson has ever offered to the public and it is not street legal. Only a few hundred will be produced and you can see one now at Rocket Harley-Davidson/Buell.
Imagine a V-Rod® cousin that is almost 12 feet long (because it has a wheelie bar). It weighs in at 526 pounds dry and 548 pounds race ready (with wheelie bar). It has already run under 9.2 seconds and over 143 mph in the quarter mile.
The motor was designed and built just for drag racing. It's opened up to 1300 cc (79 cu. in) with all the right special components from the pistons & cylinders to valves, springs, cams and all the rest. The race-designed, high-flow cylinder heads feature an unreal 14.0:1 compression ratio and are fed by 58 mm injector throttle bodies with tuned velocity stacks. HD specifies VP Racing U4 leaded race gas for the Destroyer.
All of this trick stuff gets 165 hp at 9700 rpm, and 97 ft lbs of torque at 7600 rpm. It comes with a Screamin' Eagle® Race Tuner to help you change the timing and re-map the EFI.
The transmission is a true race unit with special input, actuator and output shaft assemblies. The clutch is an MTC multistage lockup unit with an electric-over-air shift system. The 00mph then goes through a 530 chain to the special 7" x 25 rear slick.
A programmable, multimode shift light, two-stage launch box linked to the shift lever, and a race-programmed ECM all help get it down the 1/4 mile.Braking is via a 11.5 in. single front and rear discs. The front wheel is 3 x 18-inch with a special Dunlop Screamin' Eagle® race tire and the rear is a 6 x 8 inch mounting the Dunlop slick.
The cockpit features a mini instrument panel, drag handlebars and an emergency shutoff tether. The foot controls, pegs and stepped seat all the mean business.
In 2006, the AHDRA (All-Harley® Drag Racing Association) will have a dedicated spec class for the Destroyer, and Harley-Davidson will put up prize money for the class at AHDRA races. In addition, Rocket Harley-Davidson will give the purchaser of one of their Destroyers discounts on race parts, helmet, etc.
